Beautiful Woman
Oh beautiful woman of God. You are clothed in strength and dignity, and you laugh without fear of the future (Proverbs 31:25). Why do you doubt yourself? God made you beautiful, unique, and exactly who you need to be. You cannot be too thin, too fat, too tall, too short. Your eyes are exactly the color they should be, your skin is not too dark or too light it is just right. Your hair is the perfect thickness and color to match you. You should be known for the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious to God (1Peter 3:4). Don't you know you are worthy? Don't you know God is pursuing you relentlessly, His princess?
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised (Proverbs 31:30). Fear not, God will set your path straight if you listen and follow. You are beautiful for you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Too often women are harder on ourselves than we should be. We take comfort in praying for others, caring for others, and giving grace; however, when it comes to ourselves we fall short. We let the enemy creep in and tell us we are not worthy, not strong enough, or selfish for asking for something we need. We all need God. It is ok to cry out, "God I need you" and lean on his strength. Proverbs 3:5 tells us to trust in the Lord with all our heart; do not depend on our own understanding.
Stand up women! Take on the armor of God, breath in the Holy Spirit, and allow Jesus to rule over your life. Once you relinquish control and acknowledge your needs, then those prayers and that grace you have been giving in the care of others will be even stronger. For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). Proclaim the power of God, whose majesty is over Israel, whose power is in the heavens (Psalm 68:34).
Beautiful woman, use the gifts God has given you and be a light unto others, but do not forget to also look at the light within you as you look at yourself. You are a bright, beautiful star in a dark world. As caretakers we lose our strength when we do not also care for ourselves. God has called unto you, speak life in the words you speak to others and breathe life into the words you speak to yourself. You are a princess in the kingdom of the one true King and no one can ever take that place, that power, and that presence away from you.
