Brighter Than Diamonds
Diamonds aren't the only thing on this earth with brilliance and shine, so our those who follow Jesus. For those not raised in the church, you may remember when you first got saved; for others perhaps when you first committed your life and called him Lord ... do you remember people telling you something was different? That was your shine, your light shining bright for Him for all the world to see.
Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. (Genesis 2:7, NIV)
God formed us from a modest beginning, the dust of the ground. The Hebrew word for dust is “aphar” and can mean dust, ashes, mortar, and clay. We would all agree that dust by itself does not make life, but through the mighty power of God - the breath of life - we would become. We can also become dull, just like a diamond ring worn daily it gets dirty, dingy, and worn but it can easily be cleansed to again shine in all its brilliance.
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light. (Ephesians 5:8, NIV)
Shine brighter than a diamond, even when you have the pressure upon you and feel like a diamond in the making, even when you are feeling a bit worn and dull, even when you feel in the dark. You have the Holy Spirit within you, the love of Jesus upon you, and the strength of God surrounding you - let nothing deter that brilliance.
