Oversize Load

Wow, it has been over a year since I posted, basically I abandoned this project when I started a new, stressful, time-consuming job. Yep, I said it, the job has been overwhelming - the good news is that it is getting better. The turning point - the day I surrendered. I surrendered and stopped living in the world and remembered who and whose I am; I relinquished control of my job to Him, the ultimate provider. I also realized that this blog of devos was something He asked me to do many years ago and I needed to get back to it.

Funny thing, I was driving to work in the normal city traffic I encounter everyday. Typically, I turn up my music (K-Love, Spirit FM, or a Christian artist on CD) and just worship the entire drive to work. This particular day, I noticed one of those trucks with "Oversize load" blazoned across it along with the same sign on the car following it; didn't think much of it at the time. A couple of weeks later I saw another one, this time with a lead car instead of a follow car - not sure the protocol for when the escort is in the front and when it is in the back. I immediately related... I felt overwhelmed, like I was carrying an oversize load. Then the Holy Spirit dropped it into my mind like clouds clearing after a rainy day ... you have an escort too my child.

Wow, God is so so good. This world is burdensome and at times we feel like we are carrying this huge weight, this oversize load, that slows us down and distracts us. Ladies, we need not lose the vision here, we have an escort - sometimes He leads us, other times He watches our back, as we carry this load we are not managing it alone. The world may make it seem like an oversize load, an overwhelming burden, but with Him it is not, the burden is light. We were never meant to do this alone. Surrender, give it to Him. Mathew 11:28-30 (NIV) tells us, "Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." SUrrendor the burdens of this world on Jesus, he will sustain you and get you through it.

Psalms 55:22 (ESV) Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.
