It is not fair

There seems to be this buzzing, commentary, or focus that everything should be fair. Everyone should have the same beauty, intelligence, and opportunity. Have we forgotten that first of all, we need a variety of gifts, talents, and intelligence to have the diversity we need to make an impact n the world; and second of

all, it was never meant to be fair.

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves. Everyone should look not to his own interests, but rather to the interests of others.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:3-4‬ ‭CSB‬‬

Romans 12 makes clear, each of us has “different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.” Some of us have clearly been granted different and differing levels of talents compared to others. This is what keeps the world progressing, learning, and unfolding. How will there ever be challenges if everyone’s exactly the same? How will we ever rise from a test if everything is fairly divided? Don’t misinterpret me, there is true injustice in the world and there are levels of unfairness that simply shouldn’t be; however, there will never be complete equal fairness to all people until our Lord and Savior returns.

In the meantime do what we can to treat all human beings with love compassion grace and kindness. Consider the needs and interests of others. Think about how you can impact others positively and how decisions you make could bring a positive or negative impact on others. Remember the ultimate goal is to try to be more Christlike and everything we do as loving Christians.
