Total Trust

Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing. For the glory of your name, O Lord, preserve my life. Because of your faithfulness bring me out of this distress. (Psalm 143:10) (Paper Sundays Devotional)

Holy Father, I pray that you would deliver me from any distress I feel today. I ask that you bring your healing touch to my heart, mind, and physical body. I ask you to put a hedge of protection around me. Please help me as I trust you to provide for all my needs. Lead me in your ways, Lord. Just imagine if every day you began the day with total trust in God. I don’t know about you, but too often, I will let tiny seeds of doubt permeate my thoughts. If I dwell on those negative things, they can grow into full-blown anxiety, resulting in panic attacks and ultimately ineffectiveness. However, when I remember and truly embrace God’s truth in my life, I can have peace because I know that all things have been filtered through His hands. Above all, I can trust that He is going to see me through it and use it for good! In this Psalm, David prays to God, asking Him to teach Him to do His will. One of the key takeaways of this passage is that we must seek the Lord’s will so we are sure we are being directed in God’s ways, not our own. So today, ask God to show you what He desires you to do for Him and through Him. Then, trust Him to take care of all your needs fully. What the Lord leads you to do will have lasting effects for eternity!
